Adrian Waller Under 15 British Squash Champion 2004 Adrian Waller takes British U15 Title One of the most coveted titles in Junior squash has been won by Adrian Waller of Hazelwood Squash Club. The event was held between the 20th and 22nd of February at the prestigious Nottingham Park Squash Club. This squash club is host to many top tournaments having 10 squash courts available including an exhibition glass back on which the final was held. Adrian was ranked at number two for the tournament, which had an entry of 64 boys. With two games being played each day it can be a gruelling test of fitness and concentration. Adrian coped well with the pressure and throughout the whole event did not drop one game seeing off the opposition in style and speed. Below are the results of his matches; Round 1 – Adrian Waller beat Nihal Williams (Wales) 9-0, 9-2, 9-1 (24 mins) Round 2 – Adrian Waller beat Chris Peddy (Surrey) 9-0, 9-1,9-0 (16 mins.) This event is to be held in Switzerland at the end of May. Adrian who is coached by a previous winner of this event (Chris Tomlinson who appears on the trophy as 1990 winner) said after the event ‘This was the big one for me this year, having been the British Champion at the U13 age group it was my aim to win at the next age group even though I have 10 months to go before I move into the U17’s. Lets hope I can go on to win the U17 and U19 in years to come’. Well done Adrian ! |
