Broxbourne - Not bad for an old'un!

Two of Broxbourne Squash Club's members took part in this weeks National Squash Championships taking place at the NSC Manchester. In stark contrast it was one of the most mature members, Len Froggitt, the Sports Club's, General Manager, who progressed the furthest! Playing in the Over 60's age group event, Len progressed to the semi-final stage only to meet Roy Bradley, the No.2 seed & eventual winner of the Tournament, where he succumbed to Roy's silky skills, going down 3-1.

In the main Tournament, it was young 19 year old Alistair Walker, a member of Broxbourne's National League squad who shone in the early stages. Progressing through the qualifying tournament beating other National League players, Ashley Flathers & Phil Barker, he found himself, in the first round proper, up against the in form World No15, Alex Gough, who ended Alistair's part in this years Tournament 3-0.

Broxbourne now turn their attention to their next National League match, away to Lee on Solent, needing only 6 points from 14 available from the final two matches, to book there place in the play-off section of the League.
