5)         Men’s Leagues

Summer league over, missing a few results.
Winter league – there are 48 teams over five divisions.   Problems regarding teams not wishing to be promoted or not wishing to be demoted.  Particular problem in Division 1.

After some discussion it was felt that a rule change needed to be implemented and this would be proposed at the next AGM, basically saying that teams cannot decline promotion.

Sally Ann said that the league should be finished by the end of the week.

Sally Ann has instigated a League Cup, after a suggestion from Gary Spindler at R3.  In the first week of November and December and then February March, teams will be randomly drawn against each other and will have to arrange to play during that week.  Divisions 1 and 2 will be together and then 3, 4 and 5 together.   Teams will split the cost of the match.   The finals will be held on one night, maybe do league presentations on the same night.

Sally Ann handed Dean £990 for league fees with £450 still outstanding.   Most teams are now affiliated.

The main setup of the online leagues has been completed, just waiting for teams to be confirmed before finalising.  The fixtures will be put on a word document and posted on the website.

6)         Treasurer

Dean confirmed that there is currently £11,000 in the bank which includes ladies league money and money from the sponsors of the Herts Closed.

Dean also confirmed that he might be moving sooner than he had expected i.e. October and that a replacement treasurer will need to be found.  No takers as yet.  Dean said he would be willing to continue for a while until someone was found.  Thanks to Dean for his years of devoted service to HSRA.

This will also mean finding a referees coordinator. Jason agreed to take over as Council Representative for Hertfordshire

7)         Secretary

Dominic had received fixtures for the county matches.  He will forward the juniors fixtures to Ray Waller. There will be a new National Coaching Scheme to try and encourage younger players to start coaching.  Stage 1 – mini squash, Stage 2 – Club Level, Stage 3 – County Level and Stage 4 – National level.

 Meeting finished at 9.00 p.m.
