Herts Junior Rankings - 2002/3 Season (As at Jan 2003)

The Rankings List for Juniors has been compiled basically to provide the Junior County Team Managers information with which to select teams for Inter-county Matches. Historically, most clubs have ladders which operate on a two or three up challenge system, whereby a challenge can only be made to the two or three players above you, then move into that position if your challenge is successful. Without seeking out rules and regulations for the running of junior rankings lists, I would like to see an open market challenge system.

To explain:

If a junior reckons their placing is not at their competence level, then let them challenge to what they think should be their competence level. Even if it means the lowest ranked player challenging the highest ranked player.

Note 1. Any challenge will not affect Inter-club matches. These will still be run by the club team organiser who bases all selections on ability within the school year from 1st September 2002.
Note 2. The ranking list will be amended according to the outcome of Inter-club matches.
Note 3. Please contact me with results of any individual challenges, and the ranking list will be updated.
