Herts County Junior SquashHerts County Junior MeetingMinutes of Meeting 6/10/2003 Present: Ray Waller, Dudley Fuller, Ron Worrel, Julian , Simon Andrews, Steve Lloyd, Dave Kerr. Finances: The income from the Herts Closed is estimated at £1250. The outgoings will definitely not exceed this figure and after everything we should have a small surplus. Dave Sciberras can hopefully spell out the full picture at the next meeting. Can Dave please contact Dean with a view to getting our 2003/04 season
funding. Herts Closed: Thanks was expressed to Ron Worrell and Julian for their sterling efforts at the events which went off without major incidence. An entry totaling approx 150 was eventually realized. Intercounty U13 – Travelling to Witney Oxon on 8/9th Nov. – John Dixon is on top of it. They will stay over 1 night. U15 – In Middlesex (Southgate) 25th/26th October. Team picks itself. Dave Sciberras envisages minimal cost. Should travel down each day. U17 –Home on 8th/9th of Novemeber. Will hold the event in Berkhampsted. Other counties are Middlesex, Norfolk and Berks. Simon will book out the courts and arrange the food. U19 – Home on 25th/26th October. Will hold it at HCC. Dudley estimates a cost of £160 - £180 to hold the event. Ron should provide phone numbers for the top ten ranked people in each age group and advise the team managers. Interclub Ron needs to chase entries. U11’s and Girls Julian to arrange U11and girls fixtures as well as training morning. Julian to suggest some dates at the next meeting. County Training Need the ‘events’ spread sheet from Ron Worrell so that we can fill in some dates for County training across the age groups. Awards For All Royal Masonic Girls School at Rickmansworth should be a target. A.O.B. Bishop Stortford is having an open evening on the 9th October. Dudley Fuller will be attending. Steve Lloyd has been actively assisting the committee and his efforts at the U11 event and the Herts Closed were welcomed. Steve has agreed to be co-opted onto the committee and a role has to be found for him although we were made aware this should be more hands on rather than administrative. It was agreed that both Pete Cheshire and Steve would be put on the next available course for part 2 coaching. (This has since been booked). On the basis that Steve has the coaching qualification it is my proposal that Steve be appointed as ‘Coaching Co-coordinator’,. This job has to be fully defined but should involve setting up and running coaching mornings/days with all age groups. This should involve liaison with Pete Cheshire. Working with Ron hopefully the network of coaches can be developed so that we can offer more coaching ‘after school’ ie. Between 4 –5pm. The coaching could extend to visiting various clubs around the county at their ‘Junior club mornings’ and assisting them and seeing where we can help them move ahead. Obviously Steve has to agree to this remit and it will be discussed at the next meeting.. Next Meeting 3/11/03 |
