Herts County Junior Squash

Minutes of Meeting  13/11/01

Present: Ray Waller,  Dudley Fuller, Ron Worrel, , Dave Kerr, Roxanne, Dave Richards (Furzefield),.Julian Craxton

Finances: 

The recent County away matches were costly affairs:

U13 - £724 – Weekend to Falmouth
U17 - £246 - Weekend in Oxford.

 It was stated that £700+ was a lot of money for U/13 and that the SRA should be made aware of this as it is them that decide on the fixtures. RW has since sent an e-mail to them asking for an explanation as to why we were sent such a distance. Reply still waited.

The cost of this event was discussed with Dean prior to embarking on such costs, as it is a lot of money from the Herts. County funds.

County Matches: A busy month

U13 – 2^nd
U15  - 3^rd
U17  - 2^nd
U19  - 2^nd 
All apart from the U15 go to the top half fighting for promotion into the next league.

Thanks to all team Managers for giving up their weekends. 2nd rounds are late Jan/early feb 

Rankings: Chris Wilkinson has all the info. To formulate them from the Herts closed. Ron offered to assist Chris if he was unable to get them out. RW has since e-mailed CW requesting that the rankings be completed or alternatively sent to Ron.

The Herts Closed results must also be sent to the SRA as they count for ranking points.

Interclub

Ron has done a good job in getting this kicked off. Everybody has the dates for all events for all age groups. The first is the U11 on 2/12/01.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU GET TEAMS TO THESE EVENTS.

Julian commented that the interclub was maybe to elite and we needed to look for events below this level.

The level of interclub was pointed out as being for all and sundry and all standards do play. Whilst the team is 3 persons it was advised that it is possible to take more people to any venue with agreement of the hosting club. The extras can be paired up and hopefully get to play people of a similar standard.

Edgegrove school will this year stick to friendly matches and we hope that next season they will join the leagues.

Training

Ron will speak with Lesley about the next Girls training session.

U11/U13 – Boys – Can Dave Sciberras look at the possibility of getting a training session arranged for this age group at Stortford.

AOB – Clubs should be reminded to look at child protection policy.
