Girls Squash – Training arranged for 15/3/04 – 9.30 – 1pm at Cannons.

Just a note to thank Julian for all his work with the younger age groups and the Girls squash.

Coaching: Need to look for possible dates for some U15 and U13 training. This should be march/April.

Awards For All – The application form for receiving county funding for the part 1 and 2 needed some amendments. Funding for level one requires 10 hours coaching to be given to the County. If they go to level 2 then a further 10 hours will be necessary. This coaching should be FREE of charge and as the outlay for these two courses is around £350 it was felt that some commitment should be made in order to receive the money.

Ron continues to contact local SDO’s with a view to offering schools approx £120 to run 6 coaching sessions for interested pupils. The idea must be to get them attached to a club after this period.

Chancellors School have started with Ron Palmer, I have been advised that 7 girls and one boy have been going each Monday. Broxbourne school, Dacorum school, Nicholas Brakespere, Royal Masonic, have all expressed an interest.

NEED TO START GETTING THE NEXT FUNDING IN PLACE AS OUR FUNDS WILL NOT LAST FOREVER!!

A.O.B. – Dave Kerr advised that a junior was injured with a ball in the eye at Tring. The committee recommend goggles to be worn at all times for Juniors.

We had 4 representatives at the British Open Adam Fuller, Jonathon Fuller, Adrian Waller, Oliver Dixon. Adrian reached the last 16.

Regional Competetion – This was held early in January. Jonathon Fuller was beaten in the final of the U17 by Luke Grey. Oliver Dixon was beaten in the U15 final by Jubeen. Philip Waller was runner up in the Classic plate (U13).

Paul Selby is hoping to hold an Inter Regional Competition Early in May 2004.

Paul in his summing up of the event did specifically ask for MORE GIRLS to attend these events.

Next Meeting 2nd Feb 2004.
