Finances: No major changes.
Budget for Girls squash - £140 x 2 – 26/1/03 ; 30/3/03
Budget for Graded Tournament - £100 (2/2/03)
Dave Sciberras to send Cheques for £50.00 to Ron Worrel on a monthly basis.
Please can you arrange for this to be done.
U/19 – Chichester 1/2/03 – Came 4th – Played well.
U/17 – Berkhampsted – Cancelled as Suffolk pulled out leaving just two teams. Herts. and West Wales will stay up and Suffolk will be relegated. Received e-mail confirmation of this from the SRA.
U/15 Weymouth – Won only dropping one match.
U13 – Bishops Stortford – Playing as typing.
SDO’s still interested in developing squash. Ron to attend a meeting on 14/1/03 at St Albans to discuss possibilities.
Ron will ascertain what SDO’s want for HYG. Our idea is for 5 area maximum.
It was agreed that there is a need to tie in taster sessions with a club facility so after the initial introduction period junior training can be carried on with the club.
Equipment – Ron Worrel to speak with SDO’s on what they have available. May be necessary to purchase some equipment.
Betty Longhurst from Tring is happy to assist in the Tring area. Ron to keep in touch but would seem that Tring club are having success at introducing Juniors from local schools using the lottery funding they received.
U/11 – Julian to run a graded tournament on the weekr#end of the 2/2/03. Entry forms were given out.
Boys u11 friendly to be arranged with Essex – Julian
Girls Squash – Training day on the 26/1/03 – No fee to be charged. Numbers exceeded expectations need to consider number of coaching staff for the next session.
Girls to have a friendly with Avon. Richard Pope is to be contacted by Julian. Simon to pass on his details by e-mail.
Interclub – Going Ok. Chantry failed to hold the u11’s. Ron will speak with them. It needs to be re-arranged.
Events: Herts Open at Stortford – 22/23rd Feb. – Try to get entries.
AOB : Ron will find out about ‘Squash Factory’ equipment as advertised in the SRA magazine.
