Herts County Junior Meeting 7/6/04

Present: Ray, Dudley, Simon, Ron,  Julian, Steve, Dave Richards, Dave Sciberras, Ron Palmer. Jason Foster

Down to £1325.91p.

£1250 from the seniors will mean we start the 04/05 season with  £2575.

The start of the 02/03 season we had £4717 having spent approx £3500 during the year.

From the above it is obvious to see that we will have to cut back our activities unless further funding is received. The need to apply for another Awards for All is paramount.

Awards For All – Senior committee have £3500 remaining from a grant awarded more than 12 months ago. Jason requests ideas of how to spend money. Positive we can be of assistance!!

Our new application should be completed by the end of July. Dave Sciberras and Ray Waller to get together (current situation is that we hope to meet within the next 10 days!!)

Inter Club League

136 games played in total over the whole season. Well done Ron.

Biggest issue is not playing games at designated time. It was agreed that for 04/05 that games be played on the day or you forfeit.

‘B’ Teams – Can clubs look at the possibility of entering ‘B’ teams. It was commented that a ‘B’ team league could be set up if we have enough applicants.

Rankings – Currently they are revised monthly. Ron Palmer asked if these could be done weekly. Generally it was agreed that this was impractical and probably not necessary. We recognise the kids like to see any changes ASAP.

Herts County Closed

U11 & U 9 – 18^th/19^th Sept at Radlett – Julian to arrange.

U13 & U17 -  25^th/26^th Sept – Cannons – Ron W to arrange.

U15 & U19 – 2/3^rd October at HCC – Ron Palmer to book courts.

Ron W to issue entry forms ASAP (we should all have them by now so if you have not please contact Ron)

We do not have any Sponsorship. Sponsorship for the senior event does not stretch to the juniors.

Entry fee will be £10 for older age groups. £8.00 for U9/U11

Need to do best to break even or make a small profit this year.

CAN ALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS DO THEIR BEST TO GET PLAYERS TO ENTER.

Girls Squash – 27^th June – Squash morning at Cannons for  all ages.

For 04/05 season an U13 Girls team should be entered in the inter counties.

Coaching

£85 was paid to Jesse Englebrecht of Broxbourne to do part one course. He took place of Karen Lane.

We all hope Jesse will bring on some juniors at Broxbourne!!.

Jesse should also be available to help with some county squads during 04/05 season.

Level 2 – HCC November 2004.

Level 1 – Bishop Stortford – Nov 2004

04/05 County training – Ron Palmer felt we should do more during this season for coaching of the county players and those in the rankings. It was agreed that dates should be put in the calendar ASAP after we get back from the summer break. 03/04 did not have enough coaching for the junior players.

Steve Lloyd has been coaching at Harpenden (29 children) and starts at Dacorum at the end of June.

Senior AGM – Held on 14^th June. R Waller attended and gave short presentation of what the juniors are achieving.
