U13/U17 – 4th Feb 07

FINAL DATES – 18th March for U15/U19
25th March for U13/U17

This is slightly better than last year with the final date being pulled forward.

Team managers take note of dates for diary. Ray Waller commented that he is away on holiday on the 15/10 and will seek a stand in for the day.

U13 and U15 Girls team should be entered. Dominic should do this. Julian will check with Alison Henley.

Training Dates : Ron has set aside some dates.

An offer was made by BERKHAMPSTED to host 2 training/squad sessions for U15 – U19. This would be a focussed group with three top players/coaches in attendance – Pete Cheshire, Adam Fuller and Chris Ryder – taking the players through a range of exercises. This could include video analysis. Cost to the County £90 with Berko funding the other 50%. The committee accepted this offer and we hope it will be a success.

Provisional dates set in December and March.

Steve Lloyd has pencilled in the following training dates:

22/10 - 17s and 13’s
14/1 - 19’s and 15’s
21/1 - 17’s and 13’s

County Closed: Ron has everything under control. Same payment as for 2005 will be made to Ron for running the closed.

Offer received from BERKHAMPSTED to host the U19, U15 and provide shirts or trophies as sponsorship.

The committee accepted this.

Ron to liaise with Simon Andrews on what is the best option.

Entry forms should be sent out shortly.

Inter Club: The entry date for managers to enter teams is to be brought forward to give us another month to play all the games and fit in the Grand Prix events.

First inter club match planned for Oct 8th.

After much discussion it was decided to continue running the Grand Prix in parallel to the leagues. Club team managers’ who felt the teams were not getting good games could choose to simply enter people into he Grand Prix events.

G.P Events – dates – 19/11: 25/2: 22/4 and 20/5.

A sticking point is who will run these events. Clubs may be asked to take on one event each. Dave Richards has made a success of the U17/U19 grand Prix’s and his continued involvement is paramount if it is to succeed.

Girls – provisional dates already in place for the East Anglian U14 and U16 tournament.
8/10 and 12/11
25/3 and 29/4

County teams – All managers have been set with Steve Lloyd taking charge of the U13 with help from the parents of players selected.

U15 – Ray Waller
U17 – Chris Thomas
U19 - Dudley Fuller

AOB

Ray Waller thanked the committee for their work throughout the season. In his 9 year tenure this was probably the most successful year with a girls team becoming national champions, the U19 boys being runners up. We have players ranked in most age groups in the England rankings and Adrian Waller was chosen for the England U19 World Championship Team in N.Z.

Lets hope we can continue where we left off last year.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING MONDAY 11th SEPT.
