Summer Squash

For some of us squash nuts, squash does not stop at the end of the winter season. In fact the summer is an ideal time to play, practice and compete. There is more time, free from formal League and other regular fixtures.

If you want to take part in, or organise an event in squash this summer. Talk to your Club Coach, Organiser or one of the County Committee.

My Summer Squash Ideas

Play doubles or racketball with friends
Play your mens/ladies/tennis team at tennis
Play your tennis team at squash/racketball
Arrange a friendly match against another local team
any agreed number of players
get a senior player to help
Invite a coach to your club for an afternoon
Juniors versus the Men's team at your club
Juniors versus the Ladies team
Play a round robin competition.
Play all the others one game to nine points
The winner doesn't pay for the courts
Invite a Team Member to play a few of you one week-end
Invite a County Player to play a few of you one week-end

FOR SAFETY always tell a club organiser what you are planning. They can help.

Email your ideas to SquashHerts@hotmail.com and I will add them to the list

Hello Derek

Ø      One of our Junior coaches, Jon Menhinick, will be involved in arranging a squash team to take part in the East Herts games next month.

Ø      Paul Selby is organising the Eastern Region Tournament at Harlow next weekend - Daniel and Oliver (and I think at least one of the Waller family) are in the Herts/Essex/Beds squad.

Ø      Oliver Dixon is competing in the Oxford Open this weekend

Ø      the Herts leagues are close to completion.  Ron Worrell should be updating you on this.

Ø      We will likely be organising something for the Juniors at BSSC in the late summer from the Awards for All money we received.

I'll get a brief report on the outcome of all of these. Otherwise not much happening now until the new season.

Kind Regards
Dave Sciberras
