EVENT NEWS

Peter Nicol played brilliantly to win the British Open. The current issue of The Squash Player covers the event in full with analysis of the matches and form. In the men's final Nicol beat the Australian born Scot John White who had put out Jonathon Power over five games in the 'match of the tournament' semi-final. Following the Open, Jonathon Power gained his revenge in the PSA Masters in Qatar and Sarah Fitz-Gerald came under surprising threat in winning the WISPA Grand Prix Finals. COMING UP

The Super Series Finals, in which the world's top eight Super Series points winners from 2001 will compete. The event is held in the City of London from 17 to 21 June. The event, in which the eight will compete for a prize fund of $85,000,will be their last major clash before the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in July. World No.1 Peter Nicol, the current British Open champion, will be looking to extend his record in this tournament to an unprecedented four straight victories. Standing in his way is former world No.1 Jonathon Power, last year's finalist David Palmer, world No.4 Thierry

Lincou, Stewart Boswell, John White, Ong Beng Hee and Mark Chaloner. Play starts at 5pm each day. Head, the official racket supplier, will be running demonstrations from 4pm on the final two days.
