TVS Broxbourne National League Newsletter No.4

Top of the pile! After another fantastic nights squash TVS Broxbourne powered by an amazing group of travelling supporters that probably equalled that of Connaught watched our team bring the Connaught club to its knees. A 3-2 win, the jackpot from the fruit machine & a free pint won on a scratch card at the start of the night. We came,we saw, we conquered!

The matches went according to ranking, but the intensity with which each game was played was ferocious. Only Gill Wood who refereed the Meddings/Garner match seemed to have her mind clearly on other things as she constantly got it wrong to the angst of the crowd & players alike. Tim Garner and yours truly exchanged glance after glance as we both failed to understand why she was intent on ruining the match. I will be having words with her Dean!

However, intent in savouring the moment (and with a Connaught wad of notes in my back pocket) I joined Natalie Porhrer, Mark Chaloner and Alistair Walker in an evening/ early morning at los Lobos in Covent Garden where Alex Stait was celebrating his birthday. No doubt about it, life as a professional squash player has its moments!

Looking forward to 2 weeks time (19th Nov.), we play Lee-on-Solent who traditionally been the whipping boys of the Group. This home fixture will be an enjoyable prelude to Xmas. Ensure you have your tickets by contacting Adam Long at Adam@TVSLondon.co.uk .
