TVS Broxbourne wins in Barcelona

Alistair whips Koukal

In an all Broxbourne squad final of the Rocafort Open,  Barcelona, Spain, Alistair Walker (Eng) bt Jan Koukal (Cze)  3-0. This will ensure that the Gloucester youngster moves up the World rankings for the 6th consecutive month, probably into the top 100. To say this is an exceptional performance would over shadow his fellow Prospects squad members, Alex Stait (76) Jan Koukal (80), Borja Golan (52) & Greg Gaultier (26) who have all improved significantly over their rankings 6 months ago.

John Milton, who presides & directs this talented & youthful squad (yes Rod, that means you as well!) must be very pleased the way things are going. In the shadows, watching & learning are Jesse Englebrecht & Will Jones, who will one day, no doubt be 'regulars' whose names trip off the tongue when anyone mentions squash at Broxbourne.

Alistair's next 'big' match is part of a 'triple A' match (Alex, Alistair & Alison!) at Chichester on 28th January. Already a large Broxbourne contingent has indicated that they will be travelling to support Messrs. Chaloner, Durbach, Stait & Walker and the delightful young Miss Alison Waters. With all the Broxbourne squad looking good, Chichester must be worried about the outcome. I for one have already visited www.citibet.com and made my prediction.

www.herts-squash.org.uk provides all information about what's happening in squash on a 'local' basis. Herts League results are up to date with Broxbourne 1st team currently sitting 2nd in the top division. What happened against Tring? Never mind, plenty of matches to go. Good luck to all our club players involved.
