World Championships 2002

Win Win for top tipster?

[3] David Palmer (Aus) bt  [5] John White (Sco)  13/15, 12/15, 15/6, 15/14, 15/11  (106m)

I was almost spending the money when John White went into a narrow but decisive 2-0 lead, and when he had match ball in the forth, the champagne came out of the fridge! But who would believe that David Palmer would upset the odds (he was 2/1 and White 2/5 on fav, to win!) to steal the World title and my £90 ( £20 wager at 9/2 at the start of the Tournament!).

As I put the bubbly back & reached for the cheap Asti, I console myself with the fact that it was squash that had been the winner, plus I had a little saving bet on David Palmer before the final, so I actually lost nothing!!

Meanwhile back home, Rod Durbach leads a quality field in the Boston Open, a BSPA event. He has progressed through two matches so far and meets L Elriani in the quarter final. Without trying to place the kiss of death on Rodders, he should progress relatively untroubled to the Final where he is scheduled to meet Renan Lavigne. Good luck Rod.
